Ghostery Study Uncovers Major Security Gaps in Leading Sites Due to Marketing Cloud Technologies

In a groundbreaking new study, Ghostery conducted a thorough security review and identified instances of non-secure tags firing on secure pages across 50 companies in the airline, financial services, insurance, news publishing and retail sectors. The data were captured this summer from Ghostrank’s 20 million real user community and include both active and passive content. A striking majority of all sites surveyed were exposing ostensibly secure pages to non-secure data calls, resulting in material compromise to security and ROI. Companies with high customer traffic on secure pages risk material impact to their online ROI by failing to control of the mixed-content on their website. The Journey to Digital Maturity

The present study evaluates the digital maturity of financial services companies, assessing the obstacles that are inhibiting their digital development, as well as the solutions and capabilities that are enabling it. The study also evaluates how financial institutions are impacting the customer experience and how they are leveraging mobile. Although the majority of financial institutions surveyed indicated that they are investing in their digital capabilities, only 3% of respondents believed that they have reached full digital maturity. This underlines the fact that digital maturity is a fluid process that often involves the transformation of  organizational structures and technology platforms.
